Remembering US Rapper, Pop Smoke A Year After His Death

On this day in 2020, sad news circulated all over the world as the death of an American rapper was announced. On 19th February, 2020, American rapper Pop Smoke, was announced dead. His real name was Bashar Barakah Jackson, but he was popularly known to people by his music name Pop Smoke.
In the early hours of 19th February 2020, it was reported that armed Robbers invaded the home of the American rapper. New York Times reported that four suspects, wearing hoodies, including one carrying arm and another one wearing a mask, invaded the Hollywood Hills house, where the US rapper was staying and shot him dead. Pop Smoke who was just 20 years old, was transported to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles, where he was announced dead a few hours later.

Fans were quick to accuse Mike Dee, Pop Smoke’s childhood friend for setting up and killing his friend. Fans accused Mike Dee because Pop Smoke was killed after Mike Dee posted a photo showing the address of the US rapper. Mike Dee reacting to the death of his friend, shared their childhood photos on Instagram, with a heart warming caption.

In July 2020, 4 people were charged with the murder of the US rapper. They were two men and two teens who were charged for invading the rapper’s house which led to his death in February. Corey Walker, 19, and Keandre Rodgers, 18, were charged with murder in the course of a robbery. Two other males, ages 15 and 17, were charged in juvenile court with one count each of murder and robbery.
